Its all about Ergonomics
The goal of Ergonomics is to provide maximum productivity with minimal cost relating to the physiological state or health of the worker.
The goal for the design of workplaces is to design for as many people as possible without compromising on safety, health and comfort.
Poor posture and movement can contribute to local mechanical stress on the muscles, ligaments and joints, resulting in complaints of the neck, back, shoulder, wrist and other parts of the musculoskeletal system. This has a direct bearing on performance, and ultimately on the bottom line.
FREEPLAY’S ERGONOMIC RATING
Ergomax Holdings (Pty) Ltd is the leading ergonomics consultancy in Africa, employing highly qualified and practically trained ergonomists and associated professionals to conduct a range of services including forensics, training and consulting on office and industrial ergonomics, as well as ergonomic legislation.
Ukhuni contracted Ergomax to conduct a detailed forensic audit on the Freeplay desking solution.
This completely objective report has endorsed the ergonomic integrity of the Freeplay range, lending credibility to the quality of its design and manufacture.
Freeplay is height adjustable, and screens can be adjusted to mirror changes in worktop heights. The desk surface is a loglare Laminate finish in white which gives the lowest contrast between eye and paper. The computer monitor is able to be mounted on the integrated screening at the correct height which is just below or at eye level, and depth of 800mm from the user when seated in a chair to minimise eye strain.
