Ukhuni, in conjunction with expert consultants in the fields of architecture, interior design, building and project management, delivers functional solutions to blue-chip businesses as well as small and medium enterprises throughout Africa, realising our vision to be the leading provider of innovative, solutions-based office furniture in Africa.
Ukhuni had its beginnings in 1993 in a furniture dealership called Business Furniture Centre - headed by Norman and Michael Stein and situated in End Street, Johannesburg, Business Furniture Centre produced a catalogue range of office desks and chairs.
The Ukhuni team moved into their current premises in 1997 as the focus moved from the commodity market to the design and manufacture of proprietary, that answered the needs of all sectors of the market.
Margaret Taeli joined the Ukhuni family on the 4th of January 2000 as the assistant to the Financial Manager. Four years later, Margaret was awarded directorship, and this marked the beginning of Ukhuni’s journey towards their Black Economic Empowerment rating which currently is a Level 2 AAA rating, with a Value Added Enterprise certification by Empowerdex
Ukhuni has now earned its impeccable reputation in the business furniture industry for remarkable products, sound customer relationships, an untainted service ethic, and a dedicated team of 280 staff members with an average of 10 years of service.
